About us

We are Amherst alumni looking to rally fellow alumni and students around our shared concern to move more aggressively in combatting the ever-growing challenges of climate change.  By joining our voices and efforts, we hope to encourage our political leaders, our college, and our communities to act thoughtfully and boldly on this most critical issue.

Our group from the Class of 1968 started by rallying people around a Pledge, signed by over 120 alumni, to support the election of climate-friendly political candidates who understand the need for bold action to address our overheating planet.  We developed and circulated a list of recommended candidates in close races in the 2022 mid-terms whose positions on climate change we judged worthy of support. We investigated Amherst College's climate-related activities (and were pleased with what we found, while urging it to do even more).  And we developed and presented a double session on climate change actions that could be taken at the national, local, and college level at our 55th Reunion in May 2023. Since then we have expanded our network and launched this website.
